Synopsis

"Ravens" by Masahisa Fukase, regarded as a seminal photobook, consists of haunting photographs captured from 1975 to 1986. Initiated by a melancholic journey following Fukase's divorce, it features the coastal landscapes of Hokkaido, dominated by stark imagery of crows. These images are viewed as an allegory for postwar Japan’s somber mood. This facsimile edition mirrors the original 1986 publication, enhanced with a new essay by Tomo Kosuga, founder of the Masahisa Fukase Archives.
