In July 2004, English Heritage acquired a unique set of 47 photographic prints by Philip Henry Delamotte, titled "The Crystal Palace at Sydenham." With support from the Crystal Palace Foundation and the London Development Agency, these important images capture the iconic structure at the peak of its fame in the late 1850s. The book presents these prints for the first time, enriched by additional color and black-and-white photographs that chronicle the history and grandeur of the Crystal Palace, a Victorian architectural marvel.
