This book showcases rarely seen photographs by renowned Swedish photographer Christer Strömholm, selected by Gunnar Smoliansky. Originating from a 1980s proposal for a small exhibition by gallerist Kim Klein, Strömholm allowed Smoliansky to choose from his early 6x6 Rolleiflex negatives, resulting in a collection of 70 images instead of the intended 10 to 12. Captured during the late 1940s and early '50s, these photographs document Strömholm's early travels and experiences in Paris, the south of France, Morocco, and other locations. This collection was first publicly exhibited in 1990, revealing previously unseen work from his formative years.
