Charalampos Kydonakis’ photobook reimagines the myth of Jason and the Argonauts through a contemporary exploration of New York City. Between 2014 and 2017, Kydonakis, known online as dirtyharry, roamed NYC’s streets, capturing its chaotic energy through a striking and unconventional visual style influenced by Bruce Gilden, Garry Winogrand, and Weegee. His images, often close-up and ambiguous, reveal the city's microcosms with raw immediacy. Organized into twelve myth-inspired sections, the book challenges viewers to interpret its themes of struggle, uncertainty, and triumph. Kydonakis is also working on a parallel project about Crete, inspired by the Minotaur legend.
