This monograph presents Jerry Uelsmann’s photographs of Yosemite National Park, made following repeated visits after Ansel Adams invited him to teach there in the early 1970s, including a 1992 artist residency. Using photomontage, Uelsmann combines the park’s rocks, trees, and waters with floating objects, nudes, animals, and human eyes to create imaginative landscapes that examine nature, memory, and personal vision. The book includes an introduction by photographer and writer Ted Orland.
