This revised edition presents Ralph Eugene Meatyard’s The Family Album of Lucybelle Crater, a series of 64 photographs featuring his wife, Madelyn, wearing a hag mask alongside friends and relatives in transparent masks. Reconstructed by James Rhem from the photographer’s archives and interviews with surviving participants, it restores Meatyard’s intended sequence and previously omitted captions in his handwritten style. The book also includes 40 additional figurative photographs, a critical essay, and background material that situates the Lucybelle Crater project within Meatyard’s work.
