Sebastião Salgado's "Workers" pays tribute to manual laborers from the industrial age across diverse industries such as agriculture, mining, oil, and construction. The book features images of tea pickers in Rwanda, dam builders in India, steelworkers in France and Ukraine, sugarcane harvesters in Brazil, and sulfur miners in Indonesia. These photographs, taken over six years, illustrate the resilience and dignity of workers under challenging conditions. Originally exhibited in 1993, this publication, curated by Lelia Wanick Salgado, presents 81 selected images, celebrating the enduring spirit of working men and women.
