Naoya Hatakeyama's book is a retrospective photographic exploration of urban growth and transformation over thirty years. It includes series capturing architectural models, the use of natural materials like limestone, and the dynamic Tokyo-Yokohama metropolis from various perspectives. The book also examines human interventions with landscapes, featuring factories and construction sites in Japan and abroad. Additionally, it presents the poignant series on Rikuzentakata, Hatakeyama's hometown devastated by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, portraying its destruction and rebirth. This collection was showcased at the Minneapolis Institute of Art from April 3 to July 22, 2018.
