Hideka Tonomura’s "Mama Love" is a provocative and deeply personal photobook centered on her mother’s extramarital affair, captured in starkly contrasting visual styles. The first half, in monochrome, features raw, intimate images of her mother with a lover—whose identity is visually erased—highlighting the mother's expressions and bodily presence. The second half, shot on 8mm film and transferred via telecine to color, offers a warmer, nostalgic tone.
