This monograph surveys Lisette Model’s photographs, including images of affluent leisure seekers on the Promenade des Anglais in southern France and the eccentric inhabitants of New York’s underground venues. First published in 1979, it was reissued with its original oversized format and Marvin Israel design, supplemented by an updated chronology and bibliography. The book contains more than 50 photographs and addresses Model’s influence as a teacher on students including Diane Arbus and Larry Fink.
