Luigi Ghirri's first self-published book, "Kodachrome," released in 1978, marked a significant moment in photography, acting as an avant-garde manifesto and a milestone in his career. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Ghirri's passing, MACK has republished a facsimile edition of "Kodachrome," preserving its original design and text while utilizing newly digitized images for improved print quality. The book captures the Italian landscape through advertisements, postcards, and everyday scenes, reflecting Ghirri's exploration of reality and landscape. An included booklet features Francesco Zanot's essay providing contemporary insights into the impact of "Kodachrome."
