"EVOKATIV" compiles photographs by Libuše Jarcovjáková from 1970 to 1989 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, illustrating a time of limited freedom. Through her personal, well-composed style, Jarcovjáková authentically depicts her lived experiences, embracing imperfection by blending the raw with the poetic. Capturing themes like street life, night, sex, work, alcohol, love, and depression, her self-destructive lack of restraint conveys apparent hopelessness with honesty. Using flash and oblique angles, she creates snapshots where subjects have no chance to evade her candid, predatory lens, offering a stark, unfiltered narrative of her world.
