This book, based on the retrospective exhibition at the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art in Seville in March 2007, explores the work of Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama. Celebrated for his stark urban imagery, Moriyama captures the fragmented essence of postmodern life through highly contrasted, unusually angled black-and-white photos. The volume features a unique design with sixteen pages on yellow paper and a cover by Japanese designer Tadanori Yokoo. It includes an introduction by Jose Lebrero Stals, an essay by Minoru Shimizu discussing postmodern photographic theory, and a personal text by Moriyama on blending subjectivity and objectivity in photography.
