This monograph presents Abelardo Morell’s camera obscura photographs, made by blacking out interior spaces and leaving a pinhole opening to project inverted exterior views into darkened rooms. Photographed with a large-format view camera, often with exposures of eight hours or more, the images juxtapose interiors with locations including the Empire State Building in Manhattan, the Tower of London, and rural Cuba, Morell’s birthplace.
