This monograph presents Emmet Gowin’s photographs of his wife, Edith, their children, and four generations of her family in Danville, Virginia, made between 1966 and 1994. Centered on a cluster of homes at the end of Baldwin Street, the photographs depict daily life and family gatherings in the mill town. Many images were printed for the first time after Gowin rediscovered the negatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The volume includes nearly seventy photographs and a new interview with Emmet and Edith Gowin.
