Masahisa Fukase's book "Family (Kazoku)" captures three generations at the Fukase Photographic Studio in Bifuka, Hokkaido. Returning to his hometown from Tokyo in 1971, Fukase documented his changing family dynamics through portraits taken between 1971 and 1989, using a large-format Anthony View camera in the family studio managed by his brother. Known for his style, he added third-party models and humor to highlight themes of time and familial decline. The series continued until his father's death in 1987 and the studio's closure in 1989. Released in 1991, the book includes Fukase's detailed text and an essay by Tomo Kosuga.
